i love writing morally grey characters. keeping readers on their toes/not letting them form an opinion about whether or not they like/dislike a character makes me giddy. i haven't had a chance to explore it a lot with buddie, but you'll def see it in strip search!!

4: i have imposter syndrome and a praise kink so i'm not even joking when i say i'm motivated by comments/kudos. positive interactions make me feel like i'm doing something right lol. also, coming up with increasingly insane ways to make the gay firefighters kiss is v satisfying

i remember it so vividly. i was 8 and writing on my parents gateway computer in our basement 🥴 and i wrote a story about a girl who found a wild horse in the woods and they formed an inexplicable bond 🤣 and now here was are 21 years later

i have to write in either total silence or with only lofi/movie scores on in the background. nothing with lyrics because i get distracted way too easily and start focusing on the music instead of the fic 🤣 i do listen to regular music when i edit tho!!

currently the only thing i'm reading is nancy caroline's emergency care in the streets (iykyk) but i used to read A TON and i do think it has a huge impact on your writing. learning prose, dialogue, formatting, etc., all comes from reading/immersing yourself in the material

--know how to start the fic, don't focus on the beginning. write whatever scene you're most excited about and everything else will fall into place around it. also, having someone beta is useful for edits/syntax, but the only way you can get better is by doing most of it yourself.
