My 1st #PhD paper is out! We studied the effects of simulated drying durations on #plastic fragmentation exposed to UV. Plastic fragmentation increased with drying duration, suggesting that #River#FlowIntermittence might increase plastic fragmentation. https://t.co/CCL5ip0I3h.
I am happy to share my new article about the impact of mass vaccination on the evolution of Bordetella pertussis published in #OpenAccess in @ms_MedSci (in French)! 🦠💉

I am happy to share my first paper, published in open access🔓in "Ecological modelling", in which we show that imperfect vaccines and competition between strains can lead to the eradication of virulent C. diphtheriae strains!🦠💉

And the more the nontoxigenic strains circulate, the heavier the competitive pressure they create on the access to hosts, thus limiting even more the transmission of toxigenic strains!
I am happy to give a talk for the meeting of the GDR #PHYLODYN today, where I will present my work on modelling the selection of avirulent strains under imperfect vaccination 💉🦠
Can't wait to listen to the other talks!

@melodie_bastian Phylogenetics reconstruction can be used to better understand the evolution of pathogen virulence, for example when a virus jumps from one species to another (see https://t.co/dILi40UBxA for a good review on the subject!)
v0.2.0 adds the ggnullclines() function, which can be used to draw the nullclines of a 2-D or 1-D system. Unfortunately the output can look a bit odd if there are nullclines of the same nature crossing over each other, as shown below...
Do you know the phaseR package? I am currently working on developing a new package, ggphaseR, based on phaseR source code but using ggplot2 graphical functions instead of R basic graphical functions, allowing for a higher level of personnalization of the output.
As the 13th IBS approaches its conclusion, I can it was quite an interesting event! My poster drew some attention even though it was the alien there (modelling works were rare, to say the least), and I'm happy about that!
Also, Vancouver is a ++ city!
In two weeks, I will be at the UBC Campus in Vancouver for the 13th International Bordetella Symposium, where I will have the chance to present a poster on the selection of toxin-deficient strains of B. pertussis under acellular vaccination! Can't wait to be there!
Tomorrow at #EvoLyon I will present a poster on my work on modeling the evolution of diphtheria under vaccine pressure. First time presenting my work to a scientific public!
I won yesterday the first place in "Ma thèse pour le nuls" during #fetedelascience2021 in Lyon. Thanks to everyone who came to see us!
J'ai remporté hier la première place de "Ma thèse pour les nuls" au cours de la #fetedelascience2021 à Lyon. Merci à tous ceux venus nous voir !
