She built a law firm from scratch. Survived a divorce with more grace than most marriages manage. Then she let the wrong man move into her house — and it cost her everything.
Elizabeth Koki Musyoki was 34. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, founder of her own HR law consultancy, mother of two. The kind of woman who co-founded a firm with her ex-husband, split from him without a single bitter headline, and kept building anyway.
Then in 2019, at a Westlands club, she met Christian Kadima. Fitness coach. Gym entrepreneur. Charming in the exact way that should've been a warning label.
He had a South African passport. A Nigerian passport under a completely different name. A history of battery charges in South Africa nobody bothered to mention. Red flags don't get much redder than "wanted abroad under an alias," but love is a talented editor.
Within months he'd moved into her home, shared her bank account, even had a desk in her law office. Matching tattoos. The whole performance of forever.
Behind the performance: violence. In September 2020, he assaulted her in her own car so badly she jumped out of a moving vehicle to survive. She filed a police report. Went to the hospital. Took self-defense classes. Found other women he'd hurt and built a support network with them.
And then — the part that should terrify everyone who's ever taken someone back — he apologized his way back in. Proposed in November 2020. She said yes, thinking a ring might tame what therapy clearly hadn't. She kept boundaries. Kept him a "visitor" in his own engagement.
It wasn't enough.
On January 7, 2021, she confronted him about another woman's photos on his phone. Her house help heard a commotion from the bedroom and, because arguments had become routine, didn't intervene. That decision will haunt that household forever, and it isn't her fault — it's a portrait of how normalized his violence had already become.
Koki didn't emerge for work the next morning. By 10am, the house help found her — motionless, bruised, suffocated with her own pillows.
Kadima had already fled in her car, dumped it in Riruta to dodge tracking, lied to a friend for cash, and checked into a lodge under a fake name.
DCI found him in under 24 hours.
He denied murder. Claimed she'd fallen off the bed. The prosecution didn't blink — 14 witnesses, an autopsy showing she'd fought for her life (bruised neck, torn lips, unmistakable signs of a struggle), and a very inconvenient trail of fake names and fled scenes.
March 27, 2025: convicted of murder. May 2, 2025: 40 years in prison.
Koki spent her career protecting other people's rights in the workplace. She built the network, took the classes, filed the reports, set the boundaries — did everything we tell women to do. It still wasn't enough to save her from a man skilled at being forgiven.
Rest in power, Counsel. 🕊️
The arrogance is bleating, and they are no longer hiding it as President William Ruto and his allies demonstrate what critics believe is sheer arrogance and disregard to the electorate through their speeches, actions, and blatant abuse of the constitution.
Luxurious motorcades, expensive watches, designer clothing, lavish fundraisers and high-profile empowerment events have become increasingly common even as many Kenyans struggle with unemployment, rising food prices and heavy taxation.

I've never addressed any client on social media, but @theTravellerke_, you will let me set this straight right here and now.
I've been so caught up and couldn't wait to get home and give you this deserved feedback.
THE ISSUES YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT WERE WELL CAPTURED IN THE REPORT, BUT YOU STILL BOUGHT THE CAR.
AND YOUR ONLY ISSUE WITH US IS PROBABLY BECAUSE WE REFUSED TO TESTIFY.
I ASK YOU TO PRESENT YOUR REPORT AS I'VE PRESENTED MINE OVER IN THIS VIDEO AND FACT-CHECK YOUR ACCUSATIONS VERSUS MY EVIDENCE!
Sorry I had to respond late, but this couldn't wait for tomorrow.
AND NO WE DID NOT RECOMMEND THIS PURCHASE BUT YOU STILL DID ANYWAYS.
We attended court for the arraignment of hundreds of Kenyans who were arrested during yesterday's demonstrations in Nairobi. We secured the release of more than 200 youth charged with obstruction of motor vehicles on cash bail of a Kshs. 1000, and the unconditional release of a mother with a 7 month old baby. We thank the Court for upholding the rights of all who were arrested for expressing themselves in accordance with the law. We turn to the ODPP in hope that all these charges will be dropped.

PRESS STATEMENT BY SENATOR OKIYA OMTATAH ON THE PUBLIC DEBT CASE RULING
Fellow Kenyans,
Today, the High Court delivered an important ruling in our public debt case.
The Court upheld the @IMFNews claim of diplomatic immunity and struck it out of this petition. While we respect the Court’s decision, accountability for Kenya’s debt burden cannot end there.
We are preparing a separate legal challenge to the Bretton Woods Agreements Act, 1963, against the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to ensure all actors involved in Kenya’s debt processes are subjected to proper scrutiny.
Most importantly, the Court rejected attempts by the Attorney General and other respondents to have this case dismissed. The judges ruled that our petition will proceed to a full hearing on its merits.
The Court also dismissed applications by the former Auditor General, former Controller of Budget, the current Auditor General, and the current Controller of Budget seeking to shield themselves from these proceedings.
This is a significant victory for transparency, accountability, and the Kenyan people.
We will amend our petition as directed by the Court and return on 22nd July 2026. Our mission remains unchanged: to establish how Kenya accumulated trillions in public debt, how the funds were utilized , whether the public benefited and whether the law was followed at every stage.
This case is about protecting the future of our nation and the interests of every Kenyan taxpayer.
We remain focused, determined, and committed to seeing it through.
God Bless Kenya.

Do you ever wonder if Kenyan (African) leaders reflect on their spinelessness?
Like when they go to bed at night, does it gnaw at them even briefly?
Do they ever sit quietly and feel remorse or even ashamed for the poor and bad decisions they make that affect their citizens?
They even said Kenya is capable. A country that has pospartum women sharing beds, medicine worth billions expiring in a gov't warehouses is all of a sudden capable of handling Ebola protocols??? Tupunguze ulafi jameni! Do you even care about the citizens?
@BravinYuri Meanwhile there is a statement by Marco Rubio saying that they will not allow any person with Ebola to enter America. Protecting their citizens is priority.
