From personal experience, emotional control is the most important skill you can develop in your teenage years/early adulthood. If your emotions aren’t on a leash, you’re on ITS leash. You’ll lose once-in-a-lifetime connections because you messed up the first impression. You’ll destroy years of friendship in seconds. You’ll say things you can’t take back and do things you might spend the rest of your days regretting. Decisions made in intense emotions are typically rash and pushed by a desire to overpower instead of communicate. The world is very small and burnt bridges can’t be built back up; don’t let emotional possession take a temporary spotlight that would cost you an entire future.
