Luck Is a Liar

Luck is the great excuse. It’s what people whisper when they see someone rise faster than they expected. It’s the story they tell themselves to justify why they never made it.

But luck is a liar.

It doesn’t pick winners. It doesn’t play favorites. It drifts, aimless, like wind across a field. The only difference between the people who get swept up in it and the ones who don’t? Some were already running.

The world loves to believe in overnight success, in that one magical moment where someone’s life changes forever. They want to think it’s random, that someone just got lucky, that fate smiled upon them for no reason at all. But if you look deeper, really look, you’ll see that luck almost always lands on people who were already in motion. The “overnight” part is just what the public sees. The years of work?
