Prioritizing community needs + RJ lens to advance reproductive equity, justice, and abortion access for Arizona. Formerly @ProChoiceAZ

Repro justice demands an end to family separation, indefinite detention, and the xenophobic targeting of immigrants.
It's an utter betrayal to abandon our communities to cops and ICE.

AZ already has poor abortion clinic access. Patients already travel over 200 miles within the state. Abortion care is ALREADY expensive with the many barriers we must navigate. This map is from our Rural Access Project. AZ 15 week ban isn't the start of people needing to travel.
@HonestArizona AZ has 9 abortion clinics, and many Arizona residents are already traveling over 200 miles within the state to get to our clinics. 80% of AZ counties don't have access to a clinic.
As we wait on the signing of SB 1164 - a 15 week gestational ban that will only further harm pregnant people in Arizona. Add it to our list of many existing restrictions. #NoBansAZ
A potentially big day in Arizona for supporters and opponents of the abortion bill.
Gov. Ducey is expected to sign it into law today. Here’s what the bill says: @azfamily
AZleg today- HB2161 is not reflective of the diversity of family situations we have in Arizona. There are some teens who feel safer seeking confidential care from a medical professional than their parent or guardian. #NoHB2161
In those circumstances, we are only harming those kids by denying them access to informed medical professionals in a setting that is safe and confidential. #NoHB2161
The LIES providers are forced to tell abortion patients because of anti-abortion politicians! Not science-based! not from a doctor! Only because anti-abortion politicians want to scare and miseducate the public about how safe abortions really are. #AbortionIsHealthcare
It’s been a s**tshow for Texas OB-GYN & abortion provider @dr_moayedi for years. The recently added restrictions have only worsened things.

6 more hours left of our abortion ban fundraiser! SB 1457 - the genetic abnormality abortion ban - is set to take effect in AZ on Sept 29th #abortionbans#arizona https://t.co/11ju4yBTPB
Abortion bans have no place in our states, communities, & individual lives. SB1457 (AZ genetic disability ban, fetus personhood) takes effect on Sept 29th if the courts don't stop it. We're also here to support TX folks who travel to AZ for abortion care. https://t.co/11ju4yBTPB
In the debate over the potential reversal of Roe vs. Wade, a fundamental question has been largely ignored: Are people who need abortions able to access them?
@NCRP is excited to announce "Funding the Frontlines: A Roadmap to Supporting Health Equity Through Abortion Access".
The disability community is often an afterthought in our movement work, even within the Repro Rights, Justice, and Abortion Access space. We're holding this conversation on IG next Sunday with our AZ RJ Coalition partner @blackphxoc Calling y'all in to learn #disabilityinclusion
