FOULPLAY challenges the gym bro aesthetic dominating performance nutrition with an identity rooted in creatine’s molecular structure. Designer Ted Bettridge built the entire visual system around the scientific dots and lines that represent phosphate bonding – when you consume creatine, it adds an additional phosphate molecule that fuels exercise. “Dots and lines = providing energy,” he explains. “It was our dance of framing FOULPLAY as a performance brand without having to shout it.”
The result is a pixelated wordmark that blurs symbol and logotype, using a customised version of Foundry Dit, doubled in width as a nod to that additional phosphate. OCR-A serves as the main typeface, chosen for its clinical precision in an industry where trust matters. “We didn’t want to design anything that would feel irrational or unsafe,” notes Bettridge.
@monumentoco’s packaging takes cues from beauty and fragrance rather than sports nutrition, housed in flexible pouches instead of traditional bottles. The brand targets what founder Ryan Foo calls “high-output humans with full calendars” – the designer who runs before dawn or the founder fitting lifts between meetings. Their debut HI-CREATINE gummy delivers 1,800mg of creatine monohydrate per piece, batch-tested and QR-verified to address an industry plagued by underdosing scandals.
