Working with a good therapist is like opening a door and finding out there’s 10 floors to the building you have lived in your entire life, that you never knew existed
By avoiding that hurt and utterly trying its best to protect me, my mind actually perpetuates the situation of my buried pain affecting my mood and behaviour.
I’m learning: Beware of superficial, inconsequential narratives that your mind presents, feel deep inside instead 🙏
When I’m in a dip my mind grasps and grabs for any explanation for why. “I’m not living my purpose. I disappointed someone. I’m wasting too much time.”
Underneath is the wounded child, but my gosh my mind does everything it can to create another narrative.
And here is the crux:
My mind grasps at superficial narratives because my inner child is hurting, and it wants to avoid that pain. That is really what my mind is best at; it’s been training my whole life.
Ironically, avoiding taking that hurt inner child seriously is the whole root of the problem!

I expect people will look at us with the same disbelief as the way we look back at the decisions that took the world into two world wars last century 😓
Carl Sagan said that we are a way for the cosmos to know itself.
Our curiosity is the key that opens the connection between our conscious experience and everything else that is out there.
We must make space for grief, to allow the love we feel for someone to transform into the sadness of loss and separation, and then back into love again as acceptance slowly emerges.
Rather than the allegory of shadows on the wall, perhaps our perception of reality can best be described as being seen reflected in a shattered mirror. The one reality is split into thousands of different things by our mind, like a myriad of different reflections
Losing your last parent feels like someone adjusted gravity, or changed the tilt of the earth’s spin, or the density of air. Something fundamental has shifted even if you can’t quite grasp what it is exactly
You can't escape yourself.
In a world of endless distraction, we sure do try.
But as within, so without. Whatever we carry inside will be our filter for how we perceive the world. We shape our experiences through our internal narratives.
So become aware 🙏
