Strength training is the catalyst that inspires other fitness related habits.
You start lifting weights then you start eating more protein, you start sleeping better, you drink more water, you’re in less pain.
Exercise (strength training in particular) ignites your health.
cheap vs expensive dopamine:
cheap - what keeps us scrolling on our phones, quick & bright. Highly palatable, ultra processed foods, easy to consume.
expensive - crushing a workout when it’s the last thing you want to do. Cleaning your room, completing a list of tasks.
There is plenty of information available, some good, some not.
People often “know what they are supposed to do”.
Where people struggle is incorporating it into their life.
I provide fruitful advice, high level programming, AND orient it into your life for the long run.
process vs outcome goal:
1. I want to walk for 30 minutes 3x a week, eat 80g of protein, and limit high calorie foods
2. I want to loose 10lbs
which option has a higher chance of success?
Last 8 weeks of 2024.
If you do 2 workouts a week until the end of the year you will complete 16 workouts.
If you are waiting until the new year to start exercising, I highly encourage you to start now.
Entering the year with momentum in health is the best gift to yourself.
Saturday flow! These are some of my favorite days in the gym. I didn’t want to lift heavy but just move. Creativity is a very enjoyable part of exercise.
Save this for a rainy day!
One day off is no biggie. But often that turns into two, then a week, then a loss of the routine.
A tip I use is, don’t go a full 7 days without at least one training session.
If anything, it keeps you invested and mentally engaged.
Trust me, it’s harder than it seems!
I have been in the fitness industry for over 4.5 years. I am very fortunate to work with amazing people that trust me & help me learn and grow as a trainer. The fitness industry is a life changing service and can benefit everyone.
Strength training is fun. But at the end of the day it's work.
Just like our professional and relational commitments, there are days where it’s hard to do.
Recognize that and get it done. That’s when we take a big step towards change.
A pivotal moment for all exercisers.
The stuff that works is not sexy. It doesn’t sell & it often seems insignificant.
But it’s the small daily habits, repeated over and over again that lead to long term results.
Instead of feeling like everything needs to be constant in order to exercise, utilize exercise as your constant when everything else is uncertain.
It will be your support and stability during the inconsistencies around you.
Change requires sacrifice.
Healthy sacrifice involves making thoughtful & BALANCED decisions that prioritize your goals, without composing your overall wellbeing.
Ensure the compromises you make are sustainable.
More isn’t always better. Better is better.
Successful training isn’t fancy. It consists of simple exercises, proper execution, and progressive overload overtime.
The more complex you get, the more difficult it becomes to maintain.
Simple done right.
Why doesn’t everyone do it then? Because this shit is hard. There’s little to no immediate gratification, gyms are intimidating, most of you don’t know what to do, and the consistency required to make progress feels impossible with all of life’s other responsibilities.
