ON TIME
There are few – surprisingly few - investigations into, ruminations about, circumambulations around time. The nature of time.
This may be because of its self-evident external objective reality, so objective external and self-evident it does not need to be commented on as the flow of the past through the present through the future is persistent, immobile, unalterable.
Though all of us have experienced subjective changes of this unalterable, immobile, persistent reality, its expansions and contractions of duration, maybe even the temporary cessation of this objective and external time all together.
This perceptual mutability – as well as the examples of different objective and external times across culture and history – hints that time may not be an objective and external reality, that it is actually internal and subjective, just a thought.
-
As that mutation, that evolution, that capacity for thought abstracted, the ability to view things remotely, to communicate them as if by telepathy arose in our ancestors, so did it.
The changes, the cycles of nature were noticed. Symbols were attached.
The cycles of the moon and the sun, the seasons.
-
It was the abstraction of these cycles, that Conceptual Structure of Time that gave humans the ability to conceive of and create agriculture whose spatial immobility and surpluses lead to the rise of cities.
Within these cities, time, like human life became even more abstracted. Hours, minutes, seconds, decades, centuries, millennia were created. Inwards and outwards. To further order and structure reality on scales minute and cosmic.
Though we have underwent an amnesia about our creation, like we have with all our other creations, who the true authors of our realities are, locked up in a prison of our own making, forgetting that we are not only the jailed, but also the jailer, and that we also hold the cell door keys.
-
If time is just a concept an idea an airy and immaterial thought then why does it not feel like that to us?
Why does that that airy immaterial thought that idea that concept feel as real and solid as the desk I rest my elbows on as I write this, the cup that I lift, the gravity that binds me to this rock?
Why cannot our idea of time, our understanding of it, change as easily as we can sometimes change our thoughts? Like when we consider multiple different thoughts? Or give up a thought because we disapprove of one thought, approve of another?
It is because The Conceptual Structure of Time is not solely a mental phenomena, but a phenomena that is rooted in the deepest parts of our being.
The Conceptual Structure of Time – the measure of change, its understanding, its organization – is imprinted on one’s being through experience and socialization. Experiences stored in The Points of Contraction and The Suffering Body are the material used to generate The False Reality.
The False Reality is that inner structure which separates the timeless simultaneous unity into atomized objects in space, distinct objects moving through time, a time that is a part, a component of The False Reality.
The Conceptual Structure of Time is deeply integrated in the The False Mind Self Reality, thus deeply ingrained in the deepest parts of your being.
That is why its is invisible to you.
That is why you will fight for the maintenance of time - its reality – with the vehemence of an animal fighting for survival.
For it is your survival that is at stake.
The survival of your False Mind Self Reality.
-
Through inner work, inner development, through The Process of Inner Mystical Transformation one can become aware of, undo these conceptual structures that we have forget we have created, that we are the authors of and The Conceptual of Structure of Time is no exception.
From the perspective of The True Mind Self and Reality – which is no perspective – which is all perspectives – time is seen for it really is.
As a thought. An idea. Not really real.
And like you can change your mind, you can also change your time.
For reasons pragmatic and hedonic.
To speed time up. To slow time down.
To create times with a future and no past and times with a past and no future.
To create and experience the relativity of other cultural historical times.
To create time objects that can be entered and exited at will.
To create new times. Times that have not yet been conceived of.
To escape from being a prisoner of time to being a creator of it.
This multiplication fragmentation and creation of time will help us understand, give us a glimpse into the relation of time to reality, its depth and embeddedness within it, to make visible the invisible.
Or to finally and dramatically end time all together.
