Day 2⃣. 10 days. 10 questions demanding the truth about the UK’s solar strategy. 🌾
Q2⃣: @Ed_Miliband@energygovuk keep repeating dated figures that “only 0.1% of UK land” is used for solar energy. Why are you keeping us in the dark about how much farmland we are losing to solar?
@DrAseemMalhotra Write a letter to the Parliamentary Standards Commission asking for a correction and written apology.

Members of Parliament are now allowed to misdirect the house, especially when it is being televised.
After #Groundswell, usually I come away from it feeling inspired, and full of aspiration and drive for another year and a bright future. This year however, I haven’t.
Government policies have completely changed my thought process.

The Irony Of Saving The Fucking Planet
To save the fucking planet
We will blanket the fields with solar panels
We will blight the hills and coastlines with wind turbines
And the sea
We will tear up meadows, wetlands, and farmland
We will plant monoculture crops and spray them with poison
We will destroy the biosphere and erase biodiversity
We will crush coral reefs with offshore infrastructure
We will shred bird life in turbine blades
We will silence the hum of insect life
We will poison the soil with heavy metals and glyphosate Why?
To save the fucking planet
We will mine cobalt and lithium in child-labour pits
We will strip the earth for rare minerals, often in war zones
We will pollute rivers and water tables beyond repair
We will import concrete and steel from China
We will close our power plants in the name of virtue
While China builds 2 to 3 new coal plants every week
To power the factories that make our “green” tech
The solar panels and wind turbines we pretend are clean Why?
To save the fucking planet
We will become poorer, colder, and hungrier
We will ration energy, not production
We will cut down ancient forests for biomass
We will call tree-burning renewable
We will turn national parks into battery farms
We will desecrate sacred lands and natural beauty
We will hand control of energy to unelected technocrats
We will obey
We will comply Why?
To save the fucking planet
We will forget what it feels like to be free
We will destroy nature
In the name of protecting it
But can't you see, it was never about saving the fucking planet,
It's about enslaving, controlling, and culling us, damn it.
And no, I haven't quite finished, my friends.
The planet might be warming, but it's still cold compared to Earth’s average.
We need CO₂, or should I say, the plants do.
It’s the gas of life, you fools.
The carbon they want to reduce… is YOU, you tools!
The whole green agenda is an inversion
Creating pollution and destroying life while claiming to preserve it.
It is a weapon, to guilt and panic our young, and some of the old
To make us harm ourselves.
We are not the parasites.
It’s the ruling predators.

Ed Miliband:
"The biggest threat to nature and food security is not solar panels or onshore wind. It is the climate crisis, which threatens farmland, food production and the livelihoods of farmers.”
No Ed. The biggest threat to farmers right now is the Labour government.
An energy company is proposing to build a solar farm which would span six sites in Romney Marsh, near Newchurch.

Mad Miliband doubles down
@Ed_Miliband says the British people deserve cheap secure energy while pursuing policies that do the opposite
🔹Replacing domestic oil and gas production with imports
🔹Replacing domestic gas fired power generation with imported wind and solar and electricity imports through interconnectors
🔹Claiming renewables are cheap when the latest subsidies were 13% higher than the gas based power price
That's right, AR6 for offshore wind was £83 /MWh vs an average wholesale power price in 2024 of £73 /MWh
And apparently that 13% premium is too low. @orsted cancelled the flagship AR6 protect, Hornsea 4,on the basis it was uneconomic
So why is @Ed_Miliband ignoring the data and gaslighting the British public and why is @Keir_Starmer allowing it??

When the food crisis hits - next week, next month, next year - how will government ever explain that it chose not to prepare?
‘From chicken to potatoes, Britain’s never grown less of its own food’

The institutions were out in force claiming renewables are cheap in their evidence to the ESNZ Cost of Energy Inquiry. This amounts to an industrial-scale effort to gaslight the public and mislead Parliament because renewables are much more expensive than gas. A thread 🧵(1/n)
▪️Solar panels & wind turbine blades last for 20 to 25 years.
▪️Solar panel waste could total 78 million tonnes by the year 2050.
▪️By 2050, it's predicted that the world will need to dispose of two million tons of wind turbine blade waste every year.

WATER - Yes, I know we live on an Island where it rains all the time but water bosses need us to RATION water… because ‘Climate change’.
But the truth is a bit different.
▪️Pre privatisation Britain built 100 reservoirs
▪️after privatisation ZERO have been built
▪️Southern water plan to decommission 43 of its 93 reservoirs between 2023 - 2030
▪️In the last 5 years 35 reservoirs have been sold off for housing developments or <checks notes> fishing rights.
▪️water companies lose 3 BILLION litres of water a day through leaks. That’s over 1 TRILLION litres a year.
And now the water companies are pleading poverty and telling us to ration water after paying out £83 BILLION in dividends since privatisation.
What a joke 🤡
The directors of Moorcroft Pottery has stopped trading after more than 100 years - a major contributing factor was a £250,000 rise in their energy costs over 2 years. The UK currently has the highest industrial electricity costs in the developed world.
