I need to stay away from malls that have a Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. I'll blurt out "one rare cheese puff, please" way before my self-control kicks in, and I'm dangerously close to making this a weekly habit.

I did Malaxiangguo. And it feels like a bunch of ingredients stir-fried in oyster sauce and Lao Gan Ma.

That's not really a bad thing especially if you're as addicted to this fiery stuff as I am, but you could easily replicate this at home.

Sichu Malatang has been popping up everywhere, so I finally caved.

​You pick the ingredients (which are all priced the same so load with protein) and decide how you want 'em cooked. I got beef, fish cakes, mushrooms, tofu, surimi, black fernroot noodles, and vegs.

It’s pretty dang cool seeing a local illustrator bring their craft to a major DreamWorks feature. The care and attention to detail are phenomenal, especially with how incredible the world-building in Forgotten Island turned out.

I just saw Forgotten Island and it's visually arresting!

Clearly aimed at teens and young adults, but I still enjoyed it since I have the attention span of a gnat.

Filipinos abroad will love this, especially anyone trying to reconnect with their culture.
