Software Dev friends, this is really important work. If you're working in AAC, or really any app that needs better accessibility, consider adding their libraries.

@GinnyAndT Don't know if it counts, but I once had a GP in New Orleans ask me if i had 'found Jesus' when I asked for a referral to a psyciatrist to help manage my manic depressive disorder.
To clarify, I am neuro-typical except living with manic-depressive disorder so even if I watched part of it, I am not sure if I could decide if it was a fair or problematic representation.
I like to 'vote with my eyes' when it comes to what I watch online, so can any #ActuallyAutistic twittarians let me know if I should watch @netflix 'Love on the Spectrum'?
@opheliajcbrown Hanging out in the pool is awesome! O prefers a warm hot tub himself! Photo or cuteness

@derekischmitz@coffeespoonie My wife literally cried on the floor when she realized if our child got really sick there are people who wouldn't save his life because he was worth less to them. She's terrified this is the world O is going to grow up into.
@ryanlhonick@BlondeHistorian I’ll never understand this. I’ve been a dog owner for 2 decades, multiple walks a day in public, Never has some tried to interact without my permission or been mad if I asked them not to, but people do it to working guide dogs all the time.
@BlondeHistorian You made me tear up a bit. Honestly.
While I have your attention, I just want to say thank you for the work and advocacy you do here and in the world. I know very little about how O will be in the world in 17 years, but that you and others like you give me hope.
@BlondeHistorian So what he likes this week he may not next. We try and rotate through different options if he’s not interested in what’s been working. He has the attitude of an explorer right now and it brings me so much joy to see him intensely focused with all his senses.
@BlondeHistorian They haven’t been as big of a hit as the light box or larger lights that he’s able to grab and mouth. But O has CVI so his vision shifts and evolves each day, week, month... the really nice part about life with O is he’s really expressive if you listen 1/2
@rabbit_isdead That’s really cool. I personally have struggled to remember to use they when appropriate, misgendering they/them, because they wasn’t a thing where/when I grew up but I’m glad my children will experience it differently.
