I don't think most people get it:

Men will actually go to hell, march up to Satan, and beat his ass six ways from Sunday... if it meant being the man that would open the heart of a reserved and outwardly defensive girl. If it meant to have a love that no one else could have. If it meant that he could be the one to ease her heart.

The issue being that the woman has to be lovable: there has to be some sort of beauty there that makes a man feel like fighting the world is worth it. Just to see more of that beauty be revealed. And yes, that beauty is beyond the physical.

Because men find that kind of romance more valuable than gold.
