"Perrigo Co. and Ranir LLC failed to defeat parents’ claims that their mouthwashes, which are designed to appeal to kids, don’t clearly alert consumers that ingesting a key ingredient, fluoride, can harm young children, a federal court ruled Thursday.

Judge Lindsay C. Jenkins, with the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, denied the companies’ motion to dismiss a failure-to-warn complaint brought by parents.

The case is among six filed in multiple courts earlier this year against manufactures including the Procter & Gamble Co. and Colgate-Palmolive Co. Plaintiffs in the cases—all of which are ongoing."

Who is at risk from fluoride?

Short answer is everyone, but theres some more specifically at risk than others. Below are some examples taken from the book:

Resource - Fluoridation and The Forgotten Issue by Doris Grant.

1. Older people. Why? Because very often their diet lacks in some nutrients especially vitamins B & C. These deficiencies can increase the toxic effects of fluoride. (pg.11)

2. Diabetics. Professor Steyn warns that diabetics are prone to developing any of 5 kidney conditions which will seriously decrease the excretion of fluoride in urine, and increase the accumulation in the body. (pg.11) 3. People with kidney disease. The same reasons as above. (pg.12)

3. People with arthritic conditions. Inability to use calcium in the normal way is one of the major causes of arthritis and because fluoride locks up calcium its presence in drinking water will increase the suffering of some arthritis sufferers. (pg.13)

4. Allergy sufferers. Fluoride is a broad spectrum inhibitor of many enzymes, and as fluoride reaches all organs the multiple symptoms can resemble many common diseases. Many authorities state fluoride toxicity as low-grade poisoning, and as Dr H C Moolenburgh stated back in 1979, that people who have acute complaints act more or less like the little birds the miners took underground to show them dangers of mine gas. (pg.13)

5. Abnormal thyroid function. Profs Gordonoff and Minder state that - '...fluoride decreases the formation of thyroxin in the thyroid' and 'there is true antagonism between fluoride and the amount of iodine taken by the thyroid'. This may result in 20-30 % reduction in function. (pg.14)

Just some harmful effects of fluoride......
1. Damage to heart function - de-ionising calcium (locking it up) fluoride can seriously disturb heart function.
2. Damage to bone growth - fluoride delays development by a disturbance of calcium-phosphorous metabolism.
3. Damage to blood clotting - seriously extends the time taken to coagulate.

This happens due to:
a - Depriving the body of calcium
b - Storage and accumulation over time
c - Its a potent inhibitor of vital enzyme systems

But thats OK it keeps teeth healthy........ of yes thats crap too as it promotes dental fluorosis......

Pregnant ladies beware of drinking fluoride!!

When a pregnant lady drinks fluoride (knowingly or not) so does the baby. With every 24 ounces of optimally fluoridated water drank by the mum to be, unfortunately her baby receives a dosage above its tolerable intake level.

Fluoride is in some bottled or canned drinks aswell as free flowing from certain areas in Englands drinking water.

Its also in toothpastes, pharmaceuticals and unbelievably baby formula.
