Prompt like. "Please create the openscad code for a 3d model Name ABC so I can mount it two the wall with two screws".
Attach some files or images if needed. It is working for me almost every time with 1 or 2 refinements.
... uploaded it to OpenSCAD and adjusted it myself :)
after two tryouts the hanger was completed and I had a perfect mount!
The effort was less than I thought thanks to AI. As a non-CAD-designer I'm wondering if there is a better approach?!
The journey of my custom skadis hanger:
Procrastinated a lot, because I assumed some effort
Looked up MakerWorld and found a somehow suitable hanger btw thanks to CAnders https://t.co/aD1OlxhTTW
I looked around for lazy AI tools, but I did not find any suitable, just ...
... went to @claudeai and it was impressively good
the visualization was cool, even did some modifications with it, but burned my tokens fast
so I went the old way ....
Got early access to #manusai a few days ago, and it's quite impressive. It gives you an impression of how fast business engineering could be. #Grok3 is too!
If the internet ever disappears, will we be passing around AI models and Ollama on USB sticks, just like we used to share MP3s on LANs back in the day? 🤔💾 #ThrowbackTech#AI
My father asked me to rebuild that piece. I told him I have a 3D printer. Since there was no stock, he needed a rebuild. It's a stopper or end for the genoa traveler.
What does it take to rebuild a part without any knowledge of 3D modeling? About 4 hours, basic coding skills, and several printout attempts (see the journey below). Wonder what part it is?
