🇳🇴 Norway manager Stale Solbakken with a strong response to Folarin Balogun's red card being suspended:
🗣️ Solbakken: "It is a big mistake by FIFA. It is not a great conclusion. He got a red card and the VAR concluded that it was a red card. That means you are suspended for one game.
I think what is really bad about that situation is, if the USA beat Belgium, they will always have that extra thing about it.
The Belgians will be furious. What about the next red card? What happens there? Will some committee take it away? It’s a bad, bad, bad, bad decision that will hurt the World Cup and the United States."

-De nada 75 minutos donde el Congo le estaba ganando a Inglaterra en el mundial de 2026
A reminder of how horrific things have been and for how long. In 2014, the Israeli military dropped a missile on Palestinians watching the World Cup on the beach in Gaza killing 8 Palestinians while they watched Argentina play the Netherlands. Here's how the @nytimes framed the headline:
Congolese fans were excited to see Vea standing in support of the team, but the US turning him back isn't surprising b/c his presence is a direct indictment of what the gov't and CIA did to Lumumba, and the present day exploitation and subjugation of Congo, her people, and Africa
This is what the African nations especially have been pointing out. Others have been able to come and showcase their culture and fans, but this country’s racism is so blatant that it’s prohibited a wider cultural exchange. It’s so against what the World Cup is as a social event.
