Happy International Workers’ Day!
To kick it off, here’s a thread of #MayDay posters from around the world.
Let's start in Austria, with this poster from 1891.
As of today, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.
Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX
My agency (https://t.co/8Wcn3jHPjz) did the design for Zohran’s campaign.
While I wish I played a part, it was all the masterful work of my partners, Aneesh and Phil.
Having worked with these 2 for close to a decade, it’s no surprise they created what many consider (the most?) iconic political branding.
I’ve seen Aneesh go deep into the archives of typography and color theory, and Phil spend hours custom-building animations to bring a UI to life.
HYPED to see their work getting the credit it deserves.
Workers deserve a mayor that will fight for us.
Last night, we got one. Congrats @ZohranKMamdani and to the countless organizers who gave their time, sweat and tears. Our future begins now. 🌹
Congratulations to Mayor-elect Mamdani on a remarkable campaign and victory.
Honored to serve as co-chair of the transition as we work to build an administration that governs effectively and delivers a city where all New Yorkers can build a good life.
Exactly 4 years + 1 day ago today, we ended our 15-day hunger strike when we won our fight for debt relief for yellow cab drivers. @ZohranKMamdani, the next mayor of New York City, camped outside City Hall with us for 45 days, and went on hunger strike for 15 of those days, to lift us out of poverty and debt. We know his agenda will lift all of NYC working class out of the dark and into the light.
Congratulations to the next mayor of New York City on his historic victory!
An uncle in Richmond Hill points at Zohran’s face on a poster: “I like this guy! He’s the best candidate. He’s the only one for the layman. I’m not voting for the rapist.”
I was in Manhattan, Kansas when Zohran won the primary (voted early) and had never gotten so many compliments and "I hope he wins" on my Zohran for New York City pin as I did there.
Just voted for our mayor again 🗽
"Without the night shift, there is no morning."
Late Thursday night, I canvassed the taxi line at LaGuardia — and caught up with some old friends from @NYTWA.
In June 2020, I went to cast my vote for @ZohranKMamdani for Assembly. Those were scary and uncertain times, but there he was, outside my polling site working for every vote. That’s Zohran. He takes nothing for granted. Be like Z, work until the end to make history! 🔥✊🏽
For New Yorkers who work the night shift, it can be nearly impossible to participate in political life of our city.
So tonight we’re bringing this campaign to them — starting with taxi drivers waiting at LaGuardia.
