Witnessed a very strange phenomenon on Loch Turret yesterday and was wondering what it was as I’ve never seen this before. Turns out it was caused by Langmuir circulation - parallel lines to form on lake surfaces as a result of wave action and shear stresses… 1/2

Really cool paper, always interested me how probabilistic models with simple rules (at a certain, zoomed out scale) can get eerily close to actual morphodynamics. @JMTurowski
