We aim to speed up DNA-PAINT imaging by ~1.5 orders of magnitude. To do so, we introduce self-quenching Imagers end-labeled with two dyes (TDI-DNA-PAINT). In this work, ATTO Oxa14 (MR121) was found to be a suitable fluorophore. We will continue to explore further dyes in future.
🚨New preprint: “Two-dye imager (TDI)-DNA-PAINT allows up to 15-fold faster imaging at higher resolution and whole cell imaging in 4 hours.”

@ewers_helge@AmreiBahr Ich Frage mich, wie internationale Unternehmen dann ihre Erfolge in D einfahren, wo man z.B. tariflich zugesicherte Arbeitszeiten hat 🤔
It doesn't look to good for Twitter. Seems like entire teams for critical parts of infrastructure have left. This can't be good. https://t.co/SN6CbgMQqE
Isn't that what every parent has tried a thousand times? Graphical abstract makes it look like a baby is a machine and you only have to push the right button. Let me tell you: It's not. https://t.co/KRWla8U0VS
I am fascinated by the idea of funneling private money to finance basic research. There's so much excess of capital in certain parts of the world that we are going back to the XVII century approach of science done by the wealthy, without a tax-collecting state taking care of it.
I thought handling Lattice Lightsheet data was hard, but this is truly humbling. Imaged with the first (?) Zeiss MultiSEM and data to analyze for years to come 😊
Continuing Google Research's work on connectomics, today in collaboration with the Lichtman Lab at Harvard University, we have released a 1.4 petabyte rendering of a small sample of human brain tissue, & a companion paper. See the blog post for details!

Looking for metabolic targeting/labelling strategies for sphingolipid de novo synthesis? Have a look at our recent paper @RoySocChem describing a clickable sphinganine precursor which is metabolized to ceramides even after click-reaction with organic dyes: https://t.co/ahgVJM8xFc
22/24 It also stops the brightest and best young people from wanting to become academics. Who would want to join a profession where jobs are so precarious and staff are treated so badly? A bright person could pursue opportunities elsewhere.
1/24 A little while ago I tweeted about bad things happening at Liverpool University. What they are doing there is threatening to the entire academic community and the very idea of a university. Bare with me; I want to explain why (thread): https://t.co/SHNFnKOQzC
