The highly anticipated #G400 is reaching new heights.

The first fully outfitted #Gulfstream G400 has completed its first flight, marking another major milestone as the program advances toward certification. The aircraft flew for 2 hours and 46 minutes and reached 48,000 feet, putting its 11-passenger cabin and systems through their paces in flight.

And the momentum continues. En route to #NBAA2026 in Las Vegas, an experimental G400 also established a new city-pair speed record from Miami using a blend of sustainable aviation fuel. Together, these milestones mark continued progress toward G400 certification.

Have a look at how expensive these computers are. And these are not even new.

Around a million usd for the EEC and the related units on this Trent 700.

Aircraft arrived with a bunch of messy messages... engine stall, thrust reverse, oil. Nothing lined up cleanly. We replaced the computers, ran the engine and tested the thrust reverser. Everything cleared and it was good to fly again.

You can also see the data entry plug in the photos. That little unit holds the thrust rating and the programming so the EEC knows how this specific engine is supposed to run.

Still crazy what these boxes cost even when they’re used.

Incase you missed to watch Kalitta Airlines 777-300ER freighter tail strike drama, here it is. It looked like something straight out of a Netflix aviation thriller. The massive 777 came in low, the tail struck the runway leaving bright sparks flying behind the aircraft. Then, instead of stopping, the crew then powered the aircraft away and climbed back into the sky for another approach and landed safely.

Tail strikes are one of those moments that can look dramatic on camera, but there’s a much more serious side to them. When the tail of a large aircraft like this Kalitta Air 777 hits the runway, it can cause structural damage that isn’t always obvious from the outside. That’s why the aircraft needs to be inspected before it can return to normal service. For this aircraft, it stayed out of service for about 24 days before returning to service!
