@Empty_America The only culture I can think of is Sparta, not all of Greece. Several depictions of Spartan girls look like modern D1 female athletes. Definitely not the norm for human cultures. Even now someone Margot Robbie or Anya Taylor-Joy is thought of as more beautiful.

@made_in_cosmos When I talk to people choosing not to have kids it’s about lifestyle. They say outright that they are too selfish to have kids. DINKs can live like elites with their consumption without kids.

@drantbradley It’s not the relative cost of kids that’s the problem, it’s the opportunity cost. Upper middle class people can live like elites if they don’t have kids. They can travel, eat and generally consume at unheard level without kids.
