Seeing Tucker Carlson’s new hit piece on rx opioids -I’ll see this again. The only thing that the left and the right agree on in politics is that prescription opioids are bad and they caused the opioid crisis. Except it’s not true. This is exactly why we did a series on DSM 5 and the fraud involved. The DSM-5 SUD workgroup redefined addiction and got paid by the maker of Suboxone.
Now that flawed definition is used daily to force pain patients onto a drug they never needed.
But sure… keep talking about Curtis Wright and the Sacklers. I mean @joerogan is still talking about OxyContin and the Sacklers. But nothing about Indivior? Suboxone is an opioid, you know. It's being pushed on people who don't need it, don't benefit from it, and then can't come off of it. Then their teeth crumble. Not one podcaster with a big platform has the guts to discuss addiction medicine takeover of pain care?
