This is an infrastructure-focused strategy. These "5 GW of computing power" effectively force Anthropic to rely on Google Cloud, to ensure that a major competitor remains in its cloud ecosystem rather than with AWS or Azure.
Alphabet to Invest Up to $40B in Anthropic, Supplying 5GW Computing Power
Alphabet has announced plans to invest as much as $40 billion in the generative AI company Anthropic.
The deal includes providing Anthropic with 5GW of computing power to support its research and development.
The move is expected to intensify competition in the AI sector, particularly with rivals such as OpenAI.
Long-term vision: prediction markets where DeFi natives, protocols, and on-chain agents all trade on equal information.
- No platform takes 2% for doing nothing.
- No oracles you can't verify.
- No markets optimized for politics when you understand DeFi.
Just transparent outcomes on the markets that actually matter.
Merlin markets is building toward that future.
@NehraWorkss If nothing is down, it’s maybe a hidden N+1 query or a missing DB index in the update. I’d start by checking the 'Queries per Request' metrics.
The gap between proprietary voice APIs and Open Source is closing fast.
Just checked out Chatterbox Turbo on HuggingFace. Trained on 100k hours of data, and the quality is surprisingly close to the big players.
We may finally have a viable, high-fidelity option to host ourselves.

Web3 is lost inside its own bubble.
Millions into new pointless L1s every quarter.
We have enough infra. It's time to build real use cases.
These won't come from "web3 communities" and hackahtons where people try to think about ideas last minute.
Real use cases require contact with the real world. And guess what, the real world is not attending Eth[country]. The real world is organised by industries. Each industry is a different universe, different communities, different language, different events.
You can't do generic Web3 stuff and expect the real world to come knocking at your door. You need to meet people with what's relevant to them.
Not Eth[country] but health tech, agri tech, collabtech, transportation. We need industry specific communities and we need dedicated efforts to identify real problems.
It's not by attracting devs that you'll get customer centricity. You need to do user and market research.
Where are the people and ecosystems ready to invest in this, over another generic hackathon or crypto party?
