@IsaacKalua Pole sana for the loss of your brother. May the Almighty God grant you strength during this difficult period. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Imagine fighting cancer, raising money for treatment, taking your medicine faithfully, only to discover it may not contain the active ingredient meant to treat you.
Counterfeiting is not the problem; It is a health justice, patient safety and trust problem.
Some wounds heal without a trace. Others leave a scar, a permanent reminder of what you survived. But what if the scar you wish God would erase is actually a testimony of the grace that carried you through?
There are scars you can see, and there are scars only your heart remembers. But neither has to define you. What wounded you may have changed you, but it does not have to imprison you. Your scar is proof that the wound was real, but it is also proof that the wound did not have the final word.
Do not spend your life trying to hide every scar. Some scars are sacred reminders of what God brought you through...

Life is a journey of embracing imperfections and self-love. Shedding ego and accepting change, even physical, is part of becoming a better human. Love yourself, always. #SelfLove #PersonalGrowth#engageke #cancercare#storytelling
Let me tell you the story first. My wife was diagnosed with stage four cancer four years ago when she fell outside our gates and received a spiral fracture to her left femur. When the surgeons went in to fix it, the found the bone was riddled with cancer. Further examination showed masses of cancer in her lung.
She had the usual rounds of chemo and radiation for such conditions.
That was about four years ago. Yesterday, the new scan results came back, and with nothing done but the initial treatments I mentioned, this one came back showing only one small lymph node 'possibly' cancerous. Everything else is gone! Gone!
The next scan will be in three months and the prognosis is excellent. PRAISE GOD!
I believe that the cumulative prayers you and others have sent up are, in large part, what is saving my wife's life. Thank you, Jesus.
@DonaldBKipkorir I am not speaking for Gladys Wanga, but as a survivour myself l know people whose initial diagnosis was stage 3 or 4 who have survived for more than 10 years. I can arrange for you to meet them and hear their testimonies. Thank you.
At the Presidential Town Hall during the #KenyaHealthSummit2026, @daktari1 posed a critical question: What if the most important health investment we make today is preventing the healthcare costs of tomorrow?
His call? Invest not only in healthcare, but in producing health through stronger community health systems, prevention and healthier food environments.

Gentle acceptance is an essential part of showing up.
It's about giving the world permission to be as it is, because it’s only when we stop trying to control the universe that we can make peace with it.
It is such a powerful truth: we cannot control what life gives us, but we can control how we respond to what happens to us. I've been talking to many people holding heavy burdens. Those who inspire me most do not hide from the pain, but also do not succumb to it. They greet each day anew, focus on what they can do, and somehow transform pain — and sometimes anger — into something good. And that good (eventually) comes back as strength, as courage.
I'm lucky to have such people around me. To remind me to be courageous. To be graceful. To keep trying.
Today I was proud to watch the All Saints Cathedral Choir from Nairobi perform at St Pauls Cathedral in London. It was a pleasant surprise to see Pierce Brosnan of James Bond fame among those in attendance. Everyone I met had something wonderful to say about Kenya, reminding me that we have never had a Kenya problem. We have a politics problem.
There are people around you who will never set foot in a church. You may be the only Bible they ever read. The way you treat people, the way you respond to pressure, the way you love when it is hard — that is your testimony. Make it count.
I was glad to participate in this meaningful conversation with other survivors. Thank you @AFCInAfrica for the sponsorship and the emotional impact you are creating beyond cancer treatment.
This past weekend, in collaboration with A Fresh Chapter we had a Mizizi Workshop at CITAM Valley Road.
Learning how to Hold Space for ourselves & for each other. How to use vulnerability to create connections and community beyond the cancer treatment.
