I got to write about the TikTok prank for @Refinery29 today: “Disabled people aren’t here for your ridicule. We’re not punchlines. We’re people. It’s my hope that more people (and platforms, too) join us in this fight. We need you all. Disabled or not.”

@internetnectar@zillarage You should not spend your money on people you don't like but it's true artists are not usually the greatest people with highest ethical or moral standards. Research art history and you will find that for example, Picasso was a womanizer, Balthus & Gauguin were pedos etc
@WIRED Idk her or if she is a professional or just somebody hanging in their living room couch. However, this reflects more the state of entertainment. Weak. There is nothing groundbreaking about mocking a President. It’s actually very cliché and unoriginal.
@iXenu@WileMarc@zillarage I understand. I work with children and they are very much in the loop with everything social media. Maybe not your case I get that. But they know much more than parents think because they absorb and watch everything. I know this is not J* fault. It’s the platform
@Karls59612927 @zillarage Yeah but it shouldn’t be mainstream conversation for kids who watch this in youtube. I get it it’s not totally Jeffree’s fault. It’s @youtube. They probably don’t care to sexualize children? Maybe the gov needs to intervene if you tube don’t care. We all should protect the kiddos
@CosmicRainbow99 @zillarage I am not upset at Jeffree per se, but I have seen the same problems with other youtubers. Elementary school kids watch them. @YouTube should be doing something about it. Maybe some kind of censor rating where the parent control youtube by ratings.
