3/3 There was also some combustible cladding on the exterior which caught fire and helped the flames to spread. I have now completed my report into this fire, which can be downloaded from https://t.co/fL2453qdME #FireSafety#cladding
2/3 The stock presented a large fire load and the fabrics were combustible. The building had a steel frame and was covered with corrugated metal sheets. This distorted in the heat, creating gaps through which the fire could spread. #FireSafety#cladding
1/3 On 31 May, a serious fire occurred at the Dunelm store in Northampton. The shop was destroyed, along with the adjoining Pets at Home, and all other shops in the row were damaged. The fire was started deliberately by some teenagers. #FireSafety#Dunelm#cladding
A few weeks ago I released my final report on the fire in Valencia, Spain, which occurred on 22 February 2024. It can be downloaded, along with others, from my new website https://t.co/fL2453pFX6
@MrCladding@TanDhesi Sadly, this is the situation in many blocks of flats. Leaseholders have such a lot to put up with, but donโt get the support they need. It seems that the causes of the leaks havenโt been properly investigated and the work hasnโt been properly checked upon completion
I have just released my report about the fire which occurred at the Spectrum building in Dagenham on 26 August this year. It can be downloaded on LinkedIn, although anyone who does not use LinkedIn can direct message me to request a copy by email. #cladding#FireSafety#Dagenham
@GrenfellUnited Grenfell is one of the most appalling tragedies of recent times. It was also avoidable and its fallout has been far reaching. MPs should realise this and should all be present in house to debate it properly. The response from government seems weak so far
@GrenfellTowerMC Yet another fire. How many more are there going to be? There were two on bank holiday Monday, including the devastating fire in Dagenham
@emmadentcoad This is outrageous, Emma. Doesnโt he feel anything for those who died? All those 72 deaths could have been avoided. The whole disaster could have been avoided. In his view, it was just an accident and nobodyโs fault. Did he not pay attention to the findings of the Inquiry? ๐ก
@EmmaLouiseOCon2 In my view, it was common sense. Nobody would stand on top of a tall building and pour petrol all over it, yet the cladding was no different. Highly combustible and a death trap, yet profits came first
@PeteApps Buildings less than 30m tall donโt tend to have sprinklers. There will be an alarm system, but if a stay put policy is in place, it will be inside the flats themselves and will only sound in the affected flat. This is why most people do not hear an alarm if there is a fire.
Although I have a few photographs of the interior of the building both before and after the fire, I would like some floor plans. Does anyone have any or know where I can find some? #valencia#campanar#fires
I am carrying out further investigations in view of recent developments and will be releasing another report. There are a lot of unanswered questions and some aspects of the fire need further consideration, especially if another tragedy is to be avoided #valencia#campanar#fire
@AlmudenaGancedo Is this document available anywhere? I am a fire engineer and I am investigating this fire. In March I released a preliminary report and will release an updated report in the autumn. I am trying to find out as much about the building as possible before it had the fire
I have completed a report about the fire at the building in Valencia which can be downloaded from LinkedIn. There are so many parallels which can be drawn between this and Grenfell. If anyone would like a copy, but doesnโt use LinkedIn, please message me #FireSafety#valencia
@PeteApps This is horrific. There is virtually nothing left of these homes. I have always said that fire safety issues even apply to low rise housing. The problem is worse than many realise. No buildings should burn like this
In August 2021, a major facade fire occurred in Milan, Italy. I wrote a report on the fire and the cladding was an ACM product by Larson (non FR version); fire rated Class E and Class B respectively. It is one of these which was present on the building in Valencia #valencia#fire
