FHO will continue mapping Fiji waters to ensure maritime safety & support Fijiโs blue economy
12 Fiji Navy officers & sailors, including 7 women are sea riders onboard @NZNavy
HMNZS CANTERBURY as part of a joint HADR exercise
The sea riders will engage in basic seamanship, general ship operations, landing craft & helicopter operations while the ship is underway ๐ซ๐ฏโ๏ธ๐ณ๐ฟ

Over the past week, Rescue Coordination Centre Fiji has been coordinating several search & rescue cases within the region
In 2 separate cases, 10 pers were rescued in Kiribati waters with the support of local assets
Navy assets are now assisting with a #SAR case in Matuku, Lau
RCC Fiji is coordinating a #SAR case in waters around Matuku Is for a boat that capsized yesterday
Following the alert, local search teams, @FijiNavy SAR Flight & ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ช were tasked
2 people have been rescued & search efforts continue for 1 missing #Fiji
As we countdown the final hours of 2022, @FijiNavy Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC FIJI) watchkeepers AB Rokowailevu and AB Baravilala standby for the New Years Eve shift #SearchAndRescue

Vinaka to Lemeki Lenoa from Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) Fiji for helping us develop search and rescue training resources for the Pacific Maritime Safety Programme! The PMSP is working with RCCNZ to develop the modules and expects to complete the modules early next year.
