@rigathi Death has stamped its indefatigable authority over mortals as it knows. My profound condolences to the bereaved family and distraught constituents
Fellow Ugandans, Kenyans and all Africans.
It is with alot of sadness that I, today, the 15th of October, 2025, received the news of the death of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, former Prime Minister of Kenya. Rt. Hon Odinga has not been just a career politician. He has been a freedom fighter, in the tradition of his late father, Jaramogi Odinga, the 1st Vice-President of Kenya.
Ideologically speaking, they have been with the patriotic and Pan-Africanist orientation. I have shared ideas with both of them. Their sentiments have been for the unity of Kenya, East Africa and Africa, including always supporting the struggles for the realization of our dream for the East African Federation.
It is, therefore, unfortunate that he has left at this moment. It is important for the young People to fill the void left by such historical fighters for Africa’s future.
I extend condolences to H.E Ruto, the People of Kenya and for Raila’s family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Signed:
Yoweri K. Museveni
President and Chairman of the NRM.
Deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend and former Prime Minister of Kenya, Mr. Raila Odinga. He was a towering statesman and a cherished friend of India. I had the privilege of knowing him closely since my days as Chief Minister of Gujarat and our association continued over the years. He had a special affection for India, our culture, values and ancient wisdom. This was reflected in his efforts to strengthen India-Kenya ties. He particularly admired Ayurveda and traditional medicine systems of India, having witnessed their positive impact on his daughter's health. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and to the people of Kenya in this hour of grief.
@gpdkaluma You are, for the first time, on spot. Corruption in this country is budgeted for by the executive and parliament and such can be the genesis of starting to cleanse and deal with the intricate roots of corruption.
@AtwoliEBs @TheODMparty@RailaOdinga@AtwoliDza ODMs time is up. They can't operate without principles and with everyone gagged by the old fossil's whims in a state of anarchy as it is now be supported foolishly. @SGSifuna is right. Even if you supported him that is water under the bridge. The truth is, KKODM truce is a farce.
Trump's deportation of migrants, a boomerang effect on the USA? This will result in shortage of menial labour providers. They are the main social labourers in the USA. Their deportation spells Shortage that will bite deeper
@CaptKigen@NelsonHavi Trash. Has the botanist any of the acumen you are mentioning. Leadership is being credible, visionary leading and putting together and coordinating a team of experts to deliver on your agenda/vision. Maraga is more than credible and has an exemplary record. #ThinkMaragasavekenya
@Soarabovemukiny@alfredarapketer@IPOA_KE You are right. The whole process of arrests is not only a cover up but managing the public outrage. Once the emotional outrage fizzle out they will release these guys for lack of evidence
Fred Matiang'i is like Donald Trump, Even before he campaigns the country already has an expectation about him.
STRICT yes but FAIR and JUST.
Dictatorial tendencies yes but it WORKS.
He is no SAINT but just enough demons in him to fight the greatest EVIL in our country, corruption.
Give him a chance.
