Possible trigger warning for this account!
(resp. the SL with @TheSuperiorHux & @ChromeEnforced and cont.)
If you are sensitive to dark topics, please don't read along.
This is a planned SL between friends who are comfortable writing this together, so no drama please! [1/3]
@ChromeEnforced@TheSuperiorHux "Thank you, Ge--- Laylah. No, I don't have any questions at this time.", he replied, only noting her slip-up incidentally.
She really must be new on this ship, he figured, or else she would know their IDs and by which pattern they were given.
@TheSuperiorHux@ChromeEnforced He almost jumped at her suggestion, only her straight face keeping him from blurting out his thoughts.
"Absolutely not, General Hux. You can expect my attendance. I am very honored by your invitation and I surely won't want to miss it."
@TheSuperiorHux@ChromeEnforced "I'm a little exhausted to be honest...", he started, still overwhelmed with all the information he's been given in the past minutes.
"But I'm looking forward to attend the dinner General Phasma has told me about.", he added, though stiffly. "Thank you for the invitation."
@TheSuperiorHux@ChromeEnforced They never were. Not with Generals.
Why he had tried anyway, he did not know. She looked so familiar? But that probably was because "red hair" and "Hux" in combination was familiar to him. He offered her a wordless, apologetic smile.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, General Hux."
@TheSuperiorHux@ChromeEnforced When the door in his back opened, he almost jumped at the sound but calmed down just as quickly when the red-haired woman came into view, introducing herself. He got up and offered her a hand, only to draw it back before she could take it.
He wasn't supposed to do this.-
@ChromeEnforced ..Hux? Laylah Hux?
He didn't dare to admit he didn't remember her, didn't even recognize the name - aside from the last name, obviously.
Then again he was pretty sure she hadn't been on board when they left for Jakku so he hoped he'd get away with being clueless and just nodded.
@ChromeEnforced for the time being, and Snoke was dead... who would promote him? Was Hux in charge now? It certainly wasn't Phasma, or they wouldn't need to meet someone for dinner over this.
"Who are we going to meet for dinner?", he asked curiously.
@ChromeEnforced sneaking back into his body, he couldn't help but sit up a little straighter now. He could barely hold back his excitement and certainly didn't care for her offer to see the ship's psychologist whenever he felt the need to.
Instead, he asked about the dinner. If Ren was gone-
@ChromeEnforced because despite her praise, he still wasn't sure where exactly he stood now.
"Thank you.", he said again. "I'm sorry, I'm overwhelmed."
A little lie would go unnoticed, right?
"It's just... as you tell me about this, it all comes back to me. It's a lot."
@ChromeEnforced had changed. He decided to find out.
"I always hoped to live up to the expectations. If I really did,---"
Something flashed before his eyes - this girl again? - and he couldn't finish his sentence, having lost track of whatever he had wanted to say. He looked at her, alarmed-
@ChromeEnforced Some of her trust even.
And it felt good.
As he relaxed, some things came back to him. Top scores on sim leader boards. But also times of doubt. Hearing about the mission, hearing it in that tone... He knew his doubts had been a waste of time.
@ChromeEnforced Her voice threw him off a little. He had never heard her talk like this. This... friendly?
Almost as if they had gotten closer.
But he wouldn't complain, of course not. Even when he ended up in a bacta tank on his first real mission, apparently he had earned her praise-
@ChromeEnforced situation.
But for some reason, whatever happened on Jakku seemed to have changed a lot of things. One being Phasma to genuinely care, he could hear it in her voice.
For the first time he felt like he could trust her, not just follow her orders.
It felt strange, yet comforting.
@ChromeEnforced He didn't get to answer. He just nodded, silently remembering - trying to remember - his friend. Hearing he had been brought back was unusual and he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her statement.
"You brought him back?", he asked, hoping he hadn't misjudged the-
