This week I rewrote the GPU code for rendering and loading Gaussian Splats in Mukbang on iOS. Gestures are now super smooth.
All possible since Apple dropped SHARP.
DeepSteve's agents can write and run JS in the same browser tab DeepSteve's terminals run in. So I often have them synthesize game sound effects and instruments on the fly, and I can play around with it and iterate.
Example:
New web component:
<image-3d src="/your-photo.jpg"></image-3d>
Drop it on any page and get a draggable 3D embed. First request generates a Gaussian splat. Every load after that is cached.
I made DeepSteve because I wanted my coding agents that could show me things, not just print text.
So I put them in the browser. Now any agent can spin up a Display tab and render whatever we need: a live chart, a debug view, a whole UI.

Optimized Gaussian Splat rendering in Mukbang 🍜
The fix: delay radix sort until after gestures end. Even with GPU-accelerated sorting, the GPU was getting saturated mid-interaction.
Recorded on iPhone 14 Pro.

What's New
Monkey Code VR Mod - experimental WebXR / three.js integrated with Claude Code sessions
Each Monkey corresponds to one Claude Code session.
My old developer workflow:
→ Google Doc listing features for every release
My new workflow:
→ Describe a bug or feature in DeepSteve (web-based terminal with Claude Code)
→ It files a GitHub issue and asks if I want to spin up an agent in plan mode to start working on it immediately
→ Or hit ⚡ on any issue to auto-fix it
