@david_perell Or as William Carlos Williams said:
“It is difficult
to get the news from poems
Yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there.”
@david_perell It is absolutely a big deal. Beautiful things (bonus for being functional) give us a sense of life's pleasures, that our day-to-day can be better and delightful. The visit's memory would be better remembered with a beautiful ticket as a momento. The lack of it shouts volumes.
@DylanoA4 Killer book. Esp the paragraph where he is at a party in the village and realizes he has to allow room for better things to happen to his mind, cast off gloomy thoughts, expand what he felt was possible. Thats real growth
@DylanoA4 The other part of this is - involving more of your 5 senses in a task increases memory and ability. Write it, speak it, hear it. If playing an instrument, feel it (the instrument/notes).
