Libraries are a statutory service for this very reason, when economic times are tough it’s easy to assume they’re ‘not that important’ and can be cut, but they are #generationaltheft

Bit of a cheek - Northamptonshire County Council acquired this 100-year-old Carnegie library for free back in 1960s. Now attempting to sell it back to the same parish council it got it from for £195k. Was built by Carnegie on land gifted to Irchester by Lady Wantage. https://t.co/zLK67rtozD
