NPR did learn that there's a trick if you are applying in person in Washington and do not want a passport with Trump's image: Choose extra pages. The State Department says the 250th commemorative passport is only available in the standard, 28-page book
This photograph today deserves a Pulitzer Prize.

This is so representative of the country. We’re living in under Donald Trump right now. I want my country back.

I want to give you guys some facts about General Chappie James. He wasn’t a “DEI” hire—he was a complete badass that had to overcome MORE than any white pilot. Did 178 combat missions—that’s like 7 bomber tours on a B-17 in WWII.
His medal count? Impeccable. 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 14 Air Medals, Two Legions of Merit, and a Defense Distinguished Service Medal. One of the original Tuskegee Airmen, the first four-star African American General.
Hegseth couldn’t sniff the level of soldiering and warrior that was in Chappie’s DNA. God bless him. And Hegseth took down his picture from a hallway like a racist little child, which is what he is.
This is Sad!
For almost 30 years, leaders from both parties have set politics aside to honor the women veterans who gave their lives for this country at Arlington National Cemetery.
Then Trump and Hegseth shut it down.
Why? Because the ceremony recognized women.
This is an insult to every woman who wore the uniform, served with courage, and sacrificed for this nation.
Yesterday, @demwomencaucus stood with the women veterans Trump and Hegseth tried to erase and held an event anyway.
We see you. We honor you. We thank you. 🇺🇸
In 1982, there were 22 California condors left alive. Every last one was pulled from the wild. The wild population was gone.
This year the Oregon Zoo’s recovery program hatched 15 chicks — the most in 23 years of trying. Ten are in nest boxes right now at the Jonsson Center in rural Clackamas County. Five hatched under foster parents in Boise. Two more came from San Diego Zoo eggs.
Nicole LaGreco, who runs the program, said they currently have 12 sets of condor parents tending chicks at once. Nearly a full house.
The world condor population is now around 600. More than 100 Oregon Zoo birds have already gone out for release. Most of the 600 are flying free.
Twenty-two in 1982. Six hundred now.
What recovery story near you never gets covered?

"I held a lifeless child in my arms. There was no equipment to save him. This is not a war; it is a massacre of the innocent." https://t.co/KUrpZ6wBqj
