@BillowKerrow Alaar…so status quo? Can you guys decide whether this gava is better than Uhuru’s or its basically the same.
You can’t have it both ways. Every time gava is challenged, y’all say it’s doing what the previous one did & yet it was a bad govt. What kind of confusion is this?
@HeidisCat Exactly. The cruelty of the colonialists was justified with claims that Africans were "hard-headed" & needed to be controlled.
What’s baffling is how people fail to question why this culture of violent discipline has not produced a less chaotic society.
Kenyans, & dare I say many recently colonized societies, are obsessed with obedience & the use of violence to enforce it. And those higher up the hierarchy ensure the obedience of those below them. That’s why many adults believe children are moulded through violence & silencing.
It saddens me that most of you can't associate the unrest in schools with the current economic dysfunction.
Instead, you suggest cruel measures to "contain the errant children", rather than seeing it for what it is, a reaction to that dysfunction.
It is a pity.
@BabjiGee@Awanda_G@Faceyuafears I’m not very sure. Could it be because it’s close to the Mathare area? Or maybe people pronounce it that way to distinguish it from Mathari Hospital in Nyeri?
It’s an interesting question, especially why the government hasn’t harmonized the name.
Before all that, why can’t @MOH_Kenya do simple things excellently first? E.g., have multiple screening points at JKIA & improve efficiency of form filling, screening, etc.
What annoys me most about our country is the mediocrity. It meets you at the border point! Nkt!
@Awanda_G@BabjiGee It’s Gīthīnji …Gethenji.
The Kikuyu vowels are a, e, i, o, u, and ī (ay), ū (oh).
The ī is similar to "A" (ay) for apple & not "a" for antelope
The ū is similar to the "oh" in kofia & not "o" in orange.
So Wanjira is pronounced as Wa-njay-ra & cūcū is shosho
@wonderlandmom@whytesnowy@herandrews And those born in underprivileged families (really having it rough) are not necessarily closer to God’s ideal for mankind. You have no idea who people can become to survive.
@m_ogada@Wordslinger__@OpiyoWandayi What’s he saying? In temperate climates, cars generally use more fuel in winter, but overall transportation fuel demand peaks in summer because of increased travel.
Either way, these seasonal changes do not impact our fuel prices significantly.
@Ikemefuna234A@magattew Eeeiii….you cannot even distinguish between fact & opinion, yet you have something to say about my intelligence?
And where’s your well-reasoned counter argument, Plato?
So, women who "let" their husbands be "in front" are leaders, because their husbands are PR persons. Got it.
@Starshi87405239@Kenyans And one of the ways that make them so good is….drum rolls, localisation.
Most recent outbreaks:
- September - Dec 2025 in DRC, 64 cases
- Jan - April 2025 in Uganda, 12 cases.
- September 2022 - Jan 2023 in Uganda, 164 cases
Interconnectedness is the same as today.
@Starshi87405239@Kenyans The same porous borders have existed through the other 25 Ebola outbreaks in the region, yet Kenya has not recorded a single Ebola case.
Why? Because outbreaks are localized and contained at the source. That’s also why it hasn’t spreading across the entire DRC.
@Kenyans Yet Ruto wants to be "humane" to the Americans. Their own government isn’t interested in being "humane". They’re going to keep them out to protect themselves.
@dimexy_@magattew And what is femininity? Not all women are soft or gentle. Not all men are aggressive or rough or whatever is thought to be male. If these traits were naturally strictly gendered, y’all wouldn’t be here dictating how others should be.
@francis_koina@Hon_Njeri_Maina Remind us again why they cannot remain in the DRC?
And if the issue is proximity, there are Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and South Sudan, all much closer to the affected provinces in the DRC where the outbreak is occurring.
@Asamoh_ Ah, another fopdoodle does what he knows best…dumbing down of conversations because he cannot hold two ideas at the same time. Two wrongs can exist simultaneously, you know?
This reductive reasoning is an embarrassment to your two parents.
@KatheuNzyimi A driver can be driving us to our destination (good thing) and he be speeding (bad thing). He should be told off for the speeding.
Ikiwa wewe hauwezi consider more than one thing, shida ni yako.
Aaaiiii….we cannot be silent when children’s rights are being violated.
@RodgersKipembe Yuck. The way you people lie and twist things. Hata ikiwa ni Elon’s coins you’re after, or some form of validation from the rage bait, have some sense.
Two different entities have a case to answer. Those girls responsible for the tragedy & those who installed CCTV cameras.
@Solutions1k How did the CCTV cameras ensure the girls' safety? Their presence made no difference. They didn’t act as a deterrent. They’re now being used as a "gotcha", which must have been the original intention.
If you’re concerned about your child’s safety, privacy is part of it too.
