I understand a lot of people do this to save time but boiling your eggs with rice or pasta isn’t hygienic, washing them doesn’t take off all the bacteria on it. Even if you have to, wash the eggs with salt/vinegar, that doesn’t take off the bacteria completely but it sure reduces it. I’ll still recommend boiling eggs separately though.
He has been using the energy drink to take his drugs ke? Omo.
See ehn, that man is not strong o. Tell him he’s a ticking time bomb and he has just been lucky. Let me explain why…
You don't just use anything to swallow medicine. That drug is a precise chemical instruction. Water's job is to simply deliver that instruction.
That energy drink is not helping him because it’s actually full of different active chemical ingredients.
First of all, the caffeine in the energy drink is a powerful stimulant that speeds his body up.
Now, many medications are designed to control or regulate things. The drug might be for his heart, for anxiety, for his breathing (asthma), or anything else.
The energy drink is hyping his system up while the drug is trying to control it. He is using his own hand to fight his own medicine.
Worse, that much caffeine can take the normal side effects of a drug (like a fast heartbeat, tremors, or anxiety) and amplify them until they become dangerous.
Second, the other ingredients are active chemicals.
These chemicals can interfere with the enzymes in his liver, and can block the system that's supposed to break down the drug. The drugs and the caffeine can even interact and make his symptoms worse.
When this happens, the drug can build up in his blood to TOXIC levels.
Or, they can speed up the breakdown so much that the drug is useless before it even has a chance to work.
The man is playing real-life Russian Roulette with his liver and his heart every single day.
Please if you’re reading this, I’m begging you:
Use only WATER to take your medication.
Not soda and definitely not an energy drink.
I’ll make a video on this, but abeg, don’t let energy boost send you to a permanent rest.
NYSC is not cruise.
A smart person knows this.
They use their NYSC to make their CV look better..
How...
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE(CDS).
Some of you don't know that you can use your CDS activities as volunteering on your CV that's if you actually did something meaningful.
When you see fellow corpers trying to do projects.. they have a plan...a goal.
Some are targeting awards..
Some are targeting jobs.
Some want something to document for a scholarship they want to apply for.
You want to apply for a scholarship abroad to study adult education...
You are posted to a school..
You can talk to the community and organise classes for adults in that community who are interested..
Document it.
Now imagine applying for a programme under the Erastus-mundus or chevening scholarship that has to do with adult education..
You write in your statement of purpose how you organised classes for adults to help improve their literacy and then link it to one of the UN SDGs...
As a medical laboratory scientist, a nurse or doctor in a rural area..you can do outreaches during your service year..
You are a graduate of chemistry or microbiology with bias for research on the environment...
You can do a a chemical analysis of the soil or source of drinking water in that community..
You can do it in conjunction with other corpers in your field. Do it in form of a project work and keep it..
You can approach a private laboratory and talk to them about your plans and see if they can run the analysis for you at a discount..
Based on your findings, you can talk to the community about how to improve the situation. You can even bring the attention of the local government to it if the results are not too good..
Now imagine how good this will look on your CV when you are pitching for a scholarship?
I am not saying this will work..
I am just sharing ideas on the opportunities i see that fresh graduates can utilise to make their profile better.
This will enable us think outside the box.
Long Read, But Worth Your While ♥️
So, I know stocks are the talk of the town. Everywhere you turn, people are talking about the stock market. Even though it has been existing from time immemorial, it almost seems like it’s the ‘new oil’ 🤑
Many of us are having serious FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and also want to participate in the capital market 😕
But the truth is, if you jump into stocks without understanding the fundamentals, you might end up in premium tears, lose your money and go even poorer than when you started.💀
The other option is to actually attempt to understand the fundamentals of every company you intend to invest in, run the valuations, follow news flow and become informed enough to predict capital appreciation potential. While that is doable, it will no doubt be daunting.❌
But guess what??
I HAVE A SOLUTION ♥️
The first big money I ever earned in my life was a ₦225,000 Chevron Scholarship towards the end of my 2nd year in college.
I gave ₦25,000 as tithe, I gave a classmate ₦12,000 to pay for sickle cell treatment of his sister, I gave fellow struggling students like me different amounts, some got ₦500, some ₦5,000...then I got myself a used laptop and plenty of books.
Before this time, the highest amount my bank account had ever seen was ₦10,500. Receiving over 20 times that amount at once was crazy.
By the time I was done giving, I still had over ₦125,000 left. Yet, a year after that, the money had doubled to ₦250,000 as more scholarships from various sources flowed in.
That experience reinforced a belief I had then and that I still have now: my money is not really mine. I'm just a custodian of it. This is why it is so hard for me to buy things for myself but I find it so easy to give it away.
When I moved to the U.S. and started earning in $, it was a no-brainer for me to continue the practice that has served me so well. Same as when I started in Shell and started making real money.
For about 10 years now, the biggest line item in my personal finances is not taxes, or mortgage, but donations - to God, to charity, to causes I believe in and to the needy.
Last year, my CPA said, "you give more away than most households in the US earn."
I believe you can give your way to prosperity.
To grow, you need to let go.
Tithing is a good first step in learning to let go.
