One way to quickly tell the difference between a decent UI designer and an excellent UI designer:
Both designs may look superb initially, but view them at a 100% zoom level. The first one's designs will appear very large, while the latter will have the proportions down just right
When I teach people to code, I see a lot more people struggling with problem-solving than the code itself.
The ability to break a problem into smaller ones and then solve all of those smaller problems takes a lot of practice.

I’ve been noticing it for a while, but my twitter feed is slowly getting filled with HOW TO tweets. This is definitely a change (evolution?) in its main usage.
During a chat about craft & motion, @pacocoursey mentioned to me that the right click panel on macOS animates on close, but opens instantly. I was curious why, and explored some possibilities.

A classic example of task vs problem focus. Imagine if someone ran up to you and said "we need a fire extinguisher and help from the fire department" while meaning to say "my house is on fire, please help". As strange as it sounds irl, in work settings it is the norm.
I see a lot of product managers and designers rushing into "we need a page with..."
Pages are just a container for your content. First determine what content you need, and then pick the most appropriate container.
I see coding tools are starting to make their way to mobile screens, like tablets. UI design tools are still lacking in this regard, but I believe that the need is there.
User testing one of the most rewarding and demanding parts of a designer's job. Yet it can be very hard for many designers to access due to the cost and time involved. It would be interesting to see how more designers can get access to such tools.
