The city of Charlotte is committing $100,000 "in support of rent and utility bills for households adversely impacted by ongoing economic disruption across the community."

The news release doesn't explicitly say it, but the funds appear to be meant for families impacted by the CBP operation.

The city says Crisis Assistance Ministry will serve as the administrative partner for the program, handling applications for funding and disbursements to households. Funds will support households identified by key non-profit organizations working directly in the community, including the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, OurBRIDGE for Kids, Latin American Coalition and Carolina Migrant Network.

Funding will be available on a non-exclusive basis, regardless of race, gender, or national origin. To be eligible, applicants must have proof of household income, a social security number and photo ID. Interested individuals should reach out to the community organizations. The program will be initiated on Monday, November 24
