We are appealing for information about a “despicable” burglary after a grieving, just-widowed woman had valuables stolen from her home – days before Christmas.

Detectives say they are shocked and saddened by the burglary in the Kendal area.

@cumbriacc The traffic congestion in Kendal is appalling due to gasworks on Shap Road A6. Traffic is backed up to Plumgarths Roundabout on the A591 & is just as bad at all other entry points. Town Centre at a complete standstill for at least 20 minutes yesterday.

Would anyone like a walk arranging to see the woodland work/hedging etc at the remote farm this summer? It is a 3 hour circular walk with no vehicular accesss so we would need first aid cover etc. Only for those who enjoy remote walks and steep hills!

My husbands friend fell off his motorbike near Satterthwaite & broke his collarbone. Ambulance wait time was 12, yes twelve, hours! Another one of group had to retrieve van from Staveley & transport him to RLI themselves.
