@reed Sure. Can you explain why your parent company considers your money printing division to be “not individually material” enough to justify its own line item on the income statement?
@Sheepinacart Those are dedicated climate control displays. They never display any value other than the desired HVAC temp. Outdoor temp is in the kombi and radio freq is in the CID on the F30
Fun fact: Lack of fidelity in Celsius has made certain cars more expensive. The F30 used dedicated seven-segment displays for temperature. Because half a degree of C is perceptible, the displays needed an extra digit after the decimal which impacted the BOM
@oowgn This is a display for the (desired) climate control temp, not the actual interior thermometer. Typical range is 60-84F, though on the E46 it went all the way up to 90F on the heat. On most cars the only thermometer reading you’ll see displayed (in the kombi) is exterior temp
Everyone’s piling on the Luce’s exterior, but the real tragedy for me is the existence of the B-pillar. If you go with rear suicide doors and you can’t delete the B-pillar, you have failed aesthetically, structurally, and practically
@BrenzGarage NVH in modern sports cars is often so refined that the experience feels muted. The *sensation* of speed at 70 mph is higher in my E46 330ci than in any slick top 992. Never do a sunroof delete — you WANT to hear more wind rush and engine noise
How has Uber not implemented a functioning “the driver is driving around in circles and is trying to get the rider to cancel” algorithm? Can see how they’d be incentivized to lie about pickup times but where is the business incentive to allow drivers to do this on airport rides?
I asked 4.6 Opus to vendor Mbed TLS and replace my bespoke HSM cryptographic exchange with SW-only TLS DHE PSK. It tried to globally install jsontools with pip. Is 4.6 just lobotomized since the 4.7 release or am I just cursed?
