@ichorpuddle I'm so done w arospecs and acespecs getting the short end of the stick every fucking pride month bc some people don't try to look things up before they say bullshit
it’s always “this is just everyone” until they date someone ace and get upset when the partner doesn’t ever feel attraction to them. it’s allllwayyysss that shit. aroace in concept is drastically different than in reality when it comes to allos understanding it
Pride Month Reminder:
Hypersexuality is NOT a sexuality. It is a condition.
Please do not claim to be a hypersexual, especially if you do not actually have the condition. It is real and it is debilitating to those who have it.
Signed, someone with hypersexuality.
@LazyRiver__ Ah no worries lmao, I myself am aroace and specifically don't experience any attraction so I do like getting the chance to figure out the best way to explain it to people
@LazyRiver__ And if you wanna get more technical about it, those who do give themselves oriented labels when they feel the little attraction are called Oriented Aroaces :)
@LazyRiver__ Well then again, they categorize the little attraction they do feel. Aro/ace people who experience no attraction specifically typically don't apply an oriented label to themselves because they aren't attracted to anything like that
the fact that being aroace is so fundamentally different to others' experience is the exact reason why it's queer. it saddens me that so many in our community define queerness by the oppression imposed on us by cisheteronormative society and not the subversion and protest of it
trying to phrase this correctly but are there any other aroace people who are starting to realize they don’t even rlly want a qpr and they are perfectly ok with just having a nice group of friends that prioritize each other
