@SolomonKurz Arithmetic means? They imply equally probable outcomes. Quantiles all the way along with Quantile Absolute Deviation (from quantile concentrating locations). Medians as a starter. Also an economist.

@rlmcelreath But interpretation must be consistent with the physical setup of the experiment. At a twins’ gender reveal party: one is revealed to be male. Given two genders, what is the probability that the yet to be revealed twin is male? Or female? Better yet that both are male?
