🚨 Manuel Pellegrini on Ben Jacobs’ comments that if Manchester City are kicked out of the Premier League, the EFL are willing to back the Premier League’s position and kick Manchester City out of the EFL as well:

If Manchester City are eventually punished, then of course they must accept the consequences of whatever decision is made after the appeals process.

But kicking the club out of the Premier League and then potentially refusing to allow them into the EFL would be something completely different.

You are not only punishing the people responsible for the decisions being investigated. You are punishing the players, the staff and millions of supporters who had nothing to do with those decisions.

I understand why people are angry. I understand why rival fans want the strongest possible punishment. But justice should be about a proportionate and properly established punishment, not destroying a football club.

City have the right to appeal, and until that process is finished, nobody should be pretending that the final punishment has already been decided.

If City are guilty, punish them.

I grew up watching Cristiano, watching him score goals and break records, so to finally be on the same pitch as him is something I will never forget.

@utdshows Chelsea were guilty of 74 breaches. They got a 10 million fine and a two transfer window ban.

Yes they pleaded so some leniency was shown.

City will likely get a fine in the region of 30 million, a transfer window ban for 3 windows and probably a 10-12 point deduction.
