This Friday will mark two years since we played the Palestinian National team at a sold-out Dalymount Park. ❤️🖤🇵🇸

It was a great match, it raised a huge amount for 3 Palestinian charities, but it was much more than that. For all those present it was a moment beyond football, it was a demonstration of the very best of sport.

Over the course of several days connections were made between our club and Palestine than endure and have strengthened.

The Palestinian players were welcomed to the Mansion House by the Lord Mayor of Dublin and to the Áras by the President of Ireland.

We heard their stories of living under brutal apartheid in the West Bank, and we heard about the horrors of Gaza.

Later this year Ireland is due to play Israel - get behind the #StopTheGame campaign and oppose playing an apartheid state.

Just had a look at the dalymount tender documents on etenders. This is stage 1 of a 2 stage tender process. Stage 1 is to find suitable contractors to competitive tender in stage 2. Construction programme of 20months estimated to start January 2027.

Government released detailed expenditure data today. Ireland’s yearly social welfare bill has exploded from €9bn to €43bn. That is a €34bn increase and a 370% surge. Even in the last 3 years alone it is up €6.4bn. This is completely out of control.

@chippie1974 @DermotMeagher @seidodge Theres likely funding approval for the budgeted amount. If tenders run over budget any additional funding might have to be looked at i reckon.

@chippie1974 Getting it to tender is a big milestone allright when it has to be fully designed. Then when tenders back examine the most economically advantageous tender etc. Then final funding approval and start on site lots of hurdles but this is a key step.
