@anniechrist620 Idk. I’m only 23 but I grew up on the original anime, watching the movies from the same era, and playing with WOTC cards. Gen 1-3 are pretty much it for me, I dabble with 4-6 as well. I just find that the newer pokemon (ones I never liked as a kid) won’t hit the same for me.

@totodile_king Modern cars are so lame imo. They just look like they’re tryna do too much, it’s a card, not a desktop background. Vintage really ain’t expensive if you know what you’re doing and not going for the rarest cards.

@thicc_stick_boi In my opinion, there is a big gap between the vintage value and the modern cards. I think vintage will keep going up, but all the newer cards are gonna be going way down, especially since so many cards are over cluttered and ugly now.

@DRAXOMOSPHERE I think the point that you’re missing is these people got out of their way to try and be “ different “ just to end up listening to what’s popular for the mainstream audience. It’s the performative aspect that is being made fun of, not the music itself.

@LememeJames I think it’s a different situation when you have a dedicated fandom. Comics, sports, video games, etc…. A fad is one thing, steady cultural influence that grows over time is another. I will say that the current rise is suspiciously high. A result of new investors (not real fans)

@SpectralAurora_ Crazy take. One time I had to play let’s go eevee because my mom wanted the melmetal in pokemon go and it was the only way to get it back then. Horrible game, horrible experience. FR LG leaps and bounds more fun

@Xhr0l @brandon09091022 @Drempts Nah. I’m a teacher and kids still love pokemon and bring cards to school. They even are familiar with grading cards and all the lore of collecting. It will be different because the modern day rare cards won’t be as hard to find in high quality, but it’s not going anywhere.

@brandon09091022 @Drempts As a school teacher, kids still lovvvveeee pokemon. If anything, they are more into the cards now from a collectors standpoint, ( I didn’t know what a psa 10 was in elementary school). I don’t support scalpers, but I wouldn’t worry about the next generation not being into it.
