Here is my answer to those who think it’s okay to keep them as followers.

Bots and fake accounts almost never interact with real accounts. They are only here for the numbers—especially overseas accounts pretending to be patriots to get monetized with your help. They disappear from your timeline, almost always unfollow you, and leave you lingering.

What ends up happening is your account gets downgraded when these non-interacting accounts follow you. They don’t like, repost, reply, or bookmark your posts. The more bad accounts follow you, the worse it gets. When you post and they don’t interact, the algorithm deems your content irrelevant and shows it to fewer people. I see many accounts complaining that nobody sees their posts. It’s because they have a large number of fake or bot followers they never cleaned up. This information can be verified by @grok
