Whether on the road, on a podium, or on the floor of the Green Chamber, I am always excited and ready to engage in discussions about youth participation in government, and in our electoral process.

I was a guest speaker at the Nigeria Youth Political Leadership Exchange Fireside Chat, organised by @forRuralPro , where I spoke about the financial autonomy granted to Local Governments by the Supreme Court. Being an advocate of Local Governemnt autonomy, I highlighted the benefits of this landmark ruling and how it presents a valuable opportunity for youth involvement in politics, including taking elective roles such as Local Government Chairman and Councilors.

We have produced the: THE GWAGWALADA WE WANT: CITIZENS AT THE CENTRE PROJECT REPORT 2022 to help the government of the Gwagwalada Area Council understand what Gwagwalada people want.

Now, it is time to get to work for citizens and government to get to work!

The closest level of government to the people is the local govt. However, civic life is shrinking at that level. Since March 2022, RuralPro, in partnership with @fes_nigeria, has been bringing communities together in Gwagwalada Area Council to elevate their shared priorities.

The Foundation for Rural Proletariat and Community Advancement (RuralPro), through the #CitizensAtTheCentre initiative, brought citizens and elected officials together under one-roof, to discuss and develop strategies to work together to transform shared priorities into action.
