A South Sudanese national who has been jailed after taking a hammer, a hatchet, and a 7-inch knife to a secondary school in Greater Manchester.

Deng was ‘mumbling’ as he circled the school and eventually approached it, ALSO CARRYING A JERRY CAN OF PETROL.

Fortunately, the school was shut for the summer holidays.

But what might the result have been had this not been the case?

Deng is an ‘asylum seeker’. 

A court was told he was ‘increasingly frustrated’ that his asylum request had failed.

In Huddersfield a gang of 5 men led by Rayhaan Saleem, 19, started breaking into a property when they realised just a girl and her mum were home

The mum rang police who told her to barricade herself and her daughter in a room which they luckily managed to do

The police arrived within minutes and arrested the men at the scene finding a machete as well

This all happened in the early hours of the morning

The attack happened in May but they've just been sentenced this week, the leader, Saleem has been sentenced to just 26 months in a young offenders institute!

Eritrean asylum seeker Abdoela Berhan, 35, has been jailed for six months after punching 20-year-old British woman Cleo Lake unconscious when she rejected his advances during a night out in Bournemouth in December 2024.

CCTV footage shows Berhan approaching Cleo and her friends outside a nightclub. After she told him to leave and pushed him away when he entered her personal space, he punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious. He fled, leaving her bleeding in the street with a broken nose.

Berhan, who was staying at the taxpayer-funded Britannia asylum hotel, claimed he acted in self-defense, but the judge rejected his account, saying Cleo was "entitled to reject" his advances.

District Judge Orla Austin imposed the maximum six-month sentence available for the assault, describing it as an "exceptional case" involving serious violence against a young woman who had simply rejected his advances.

Berhan had also recently been convicted of assaulting a Subway worker and criminal damage. Asked whether he would be deported after serving his sentence, the Home Office said: "Where a foreign national poses a threat to the UK, we will always seek to deport them."
