Our problem in #Nigeria and #Africa as a whole is how to rescue ourselves from #StateCapture (capturing of the State by the elite). Without that, no amount of Governance 101 will set us on the right path.
There’s a distortion which if we do not put an end to, Poor Governance will reign on in Nigeria.
Politics is the Economy of our so-called ‘Political Class’.
For as long as Politics is booming for them, the Economy can go to blazes.
It is Distortion that must end.
There is nothing any president can do to make those businesses disappear in the next 50 years.
Brazil is a $2.5trillion GDP economy, they exist in Brazil. India is a $4trillion GDP, they exist in India. In the phillipines, which is equally a $500m GDP, they have dedicated food streets where food carts exist.
The industry exists, the demand exist and patronage is certain. Formalising them, giving them grants, financial inclusion, and financial literacy and systems that ca be built around them.
Thinking that those businesses would disappear and all we would have across the country even in Ayetoro Gbede or Angalabiri in Bayelsa are suits and ties, laptop and iPad businesses is grandiose delusion.
People won't sell Bole and fish on the streets of Portharcourt again?...delusional clowns.
@iyaboawokoya But don't you think we need to open our railway project for private investors? It's not going to be a venture the Federal Government will be a le to venture into successfully. If after 60 plus years of independence we can't boast of a road that circles Nigeria, it's unpatriotic!
Akara or no akara, people downgrade petty trade.
There’s a woman that sells moin-moin on Subeb road in ilorin, I’m sure she makes nothing less than 50k daily profit…. and it’s not a 9-5.

Maybe this video will enlighten, re-orientate and update you lots. What SM as caused is undoubtedly undefeated. We've lost the belief of Dignity in Labour. How many people do you think are University degree holders in UK? The wealth is UK lies in hand job
Farooq Kperogi is not a member of the APC. He is not a spokesperson for President Tinubu. In fact, he has been one of Tinubu's fiercest critics.
Yet today, he publicly admitted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proved him wrong in Kwara.
That is what intellectual honesty looks like.
Months ago, Kperogi warned that Tinubu would allegedly impose a Yoruba candidate on Kwara in pursuit of what he called a "Yoruba agenda." Today, after the emergence of Yakubu Danladi Salihu from the long-marginalized Borgu axis of Kwara North, he has publicly retracted that assumption.
The significance of this goes beyond party politics.
Kwara North has never produced a governor since the state's creation in 1967. For decades, power remained concentrated elsewhere. But under Tinubu's watch, power has now shifted to a zone many believed would never get the opportunity.
This completely destroys the false narrative that President Tinubu is driven by ethnic favoritism.
If Tinubu's objective was ethnic domination, why would he support a political outcome that empowered one of the most politically marginalized groups in Kwara State?
Facts are stubborn things.
Even Kperogi, who had every reason to maintain his previous position, chose instead to acknowledge reality.
Leadership is not about pleasing everybody. It is about doing what is fair, even when powerful interests are pushing in another direction.
The lesson here is simple:
When critics attack Tinubu unfairly, they eventually find themselves correcting the record. The President's greatest response to propaganda has never been words. It has always been results.
As Kperogi himself admitted, Tinubu resisted exclusionary pressures and welcomed a historic power shift to Kwara North.
Sometimes, the strongest endorsement comes from those who once disagreed with you.
Have you seen the reason why @officialABAT bad shouted Obi, Obi, Obi during his campaign tour! Ask a question about streamlining Tax and he turned it into debt relief he asked them in China, if I may ask in what capacity please? What a national disgrace.
This one genuinely had me questioning my own comprehension skills.
A straightforward question: how would you harmonise and streamline taxes for MSMEs that are currently facing multiple layers of taxation from state and local levels?
A simple question on tax harmonisation.
Ladies and gentlemen, please listen carefully to Peter Obi’s response. 😭
At some point I started wondering whether I was the one missing something.
Or is something wrong with me ?
Watch till end, those men couldn’t help but laugh😩😩
Ederson called up for Brazil just days after signing for United
Amad back with a winner against France

You can’t be a United player and not carry grace
Van Persie on Arteta in 2019 🗣️
Arsenal can't win the Title with Arteta as their manager, I don't hate him but as pundits we need to say the truth. Arsenal need a manager that has won a lot of trophies & with a winning mentality deposited in the players. He won't give Arsenal a major trophy even if he stays another 10 years at the club.
Mr Snake what are you saying now

This tweet brought tears to my eyes. Coming from Mini campus (we were the last set 2005 just to sign a document at PS. You will witness premium se ge at challenge just to get a cab. The line for the school bus is always endless though somehow orderly. It's a beautiful experience!
The whole of University of Ilorin permanent site descended into riot and chaos in 2002 because Coca-Cola increased its price to N25. Students went on a rampage and Coca-Cola had to build the SUG relaxation spot. Coke and toast bread on walkway was for big boys and girls.
Regular girls bought pure water, they would put a straw in the pure water sachet to look premium. In the hostel, "na baba abeg you get pure water for room" if you gave out a sachet of pure water, it was generosity at its peak. Boys would hide pure water sachet under their beds.
Accommodation was N1,370 and students missed deadlines to pay. Some students would fight for accommodation slot just to resell at N3,000. That N3,000 still came with a payment plan of 6 months 😃😃.
Cab fare from school to Tanke was N30 or N40. Students would stand by the road side under the hot sun begging for "lift". Fuel was N26 per litre but boys car dey empty tank consistently and that was even luxury.
I remember driving to school, once I got past Sanrab na to put the gear in neutral to take me to Chapel sec school. Then climb Oke odo by Bekadims, neutral again to take me to school gate, fire till university quarters, down shift while approaching the bridge then neutral all the way. N300 fuel must last for a week.
Regular Benz 230E injector wey dey drink fuel like mad.
