On this Christmas day, Gabe Galanda (@NDNlawyer) was honored by The Seattle Times Editorial Board as a "gift" to our region, in recognition of his advocacy for "people who lost their homes after being disenrolled by the Nooksack Tribe." They belong.

Yesterday @NDNlawyer testified regarding @WSHFC's broken promises to thousands of Indigenous homebuyers. Citing @UN's historic interventions, he criticized "the indifference of the executive branches in both DC and Olympia." You can watch it here at 1:15: https://t.co/IqXTxyQMhe
The dispute over evictions from Nooksack housing shone a spotlight on a little-known provision of a federal low-income housing program: eventual tenant ownership.
An audit has now confirmed none of the 135 eligible homes in the state have been transferred to tenants.
I just yet another official communication about the dire situation of the elders facing eviction by the Nooksack Tribe. I urge the Nooksack Tribe to stop the forced eviction scheduled today of 3 families, and find a more humane solution. I also urge the Federal Government and Washington State to prevent this eviction and, if it still takes place, to ensure immediate access to emergency housing.
@NDNlawyer appeared in a 4-minute, 30-second @fox13seattle news story last night, where he criticized Democrats like @SecDebHaaland and @GovInslee for ignoring Indigenous human rights abuse: "they simply look away to protect their careers." https://t.co/ePwvpBRdsa
Gabe Galanda (@NDNlawyer): "It is worrisome that so many Indigenous voters would support a presidential candidate whose party threatens economic, environmental, and cultural harm to Tribal nations."

@galandabroadman @NDNlawyer @DebHaalandNM@indianz@IndianCommittee@Interior@IndianAffairs@IllumiNative or in most of the state governor's offices as well....we shall see when the final report comes out from the california truth and healing council if our voices--those of the unrecognized and disenrolled indian community--are documented or made invisible yet again...
Why hasn’t @SecDebHaaland commented on our human rights abuse? The @UN has, giving her political cover to do what is right and just. The answer: because she is running for New Mexico Governor. With Nooksack police visits now expected over Thanksgiving, she’s left us for dead.💔
Reminder that millionaire NCAI President Pechanga Chairman Mark Macarro ignored evidence from the anthropologist the tribe hired to disenroll hundreds from the tribe
absolutely horrific....and, more genocide by those colonized minded indians who place more importance on $$$$$ signs than our own indian people...shameful!
more info please...what is genocidal president and pechanga chair mark macarro up to now, following the amendment to ban unrecognized tribes at the new orleans convening of ncai last month....
